Wilbert Bulsink

Wilbert Bulsink (1983) is composer, pianist and keyboard player. He studied composition at the Conservatory of Amsterdam at Theo Loevendie, Daan Manneke and Wim Henderickx.
As a composer he received assignments from Dutch ensembles and orchestras, including ASKO | Schönberg, the New Ensemble, Looptail and the Nederlands Blazers Ensemble. He worked with conductors like Ed Spanjaard, Lucas Vis and Bas Wiegers. Together with Thomas Myrmel he made two musical theatre works: The Expected and Pigeonhouse. In addition, he made music theatre with the Rosa Ensemble.

In 2015, he was composer-in-focus at the November Music Festival in Den Bosch, where the world-famous French Quatuor Diotima, premiered a new string quartet. Bulsink plays synthesizer and hammond organ in bands like fSTARand and PumpOrgan. He is part of the composer collective Monoták and Splendor Amsterdam, a group of fifty musicians who transformed an old bathhouse into a stage for all kinds of music. Bulsink is a lecturer at the ArtEZ Conservatory in Zwolle.

In 2014 he composed the music for Sarah Kane’s Crave for Theater Utrecht / Rosa Ensemble directed by Thibaud Delpeut. In 2016 he composed the score for La Musica 2, also for Theater Utrecht and Rosa Ensemble.
