Selling Hoovers in Mojave (2004-5)

Rosa digs deep into the mystery surrounding Don van Vliet AKA Captain Beefheart. Actor Hans Dagelet talks, raps, sings and plays the trumpet. Rosa rubs, crows and crunches. The lyrics are translated in Dutch.

This is the reprise of the successfull Captain Beefheart project. A performance full of movement and adventure, a strange mixture of deranged blues and electrical contemporary music. The compositions are by Captain Beefheart, Frank Zappa, Floris van Bergeijk, Eric de Clercq and Daniel Cross.

In Selling Hoovers in Mojave the lights are operated by the musicians. This way changes and light-improvisations are closely connected to the fastly shifting music. The light is triggered using MIDI.

To go short: not a new performance, by a next step in a succesful development.
